15 tips to combat writer's block

These are just a few tips that help me to write. You may have some of your own tips and I would like to hear them. If a tip does not seem to work for you, then no sense in using it. If they do, then all the power to you and write your little hearts, and keep going.



1. Take a break when needed. When tired sleep. Do not burn yourself out.


2. Eat and drink. Helps to keep your energy up.


3. Exercise. help keep your blood flowing to your brain.


4. Always have something to write with. Pen, pencil, marker, paper, book, pad, phone, tablet, laptop, even a bloody napkin if need be.


5. Do not stress about your writer's block, let it come to you, it will, wait, be patient.


6. Take a walk outside somewhere, observe the world and take it in, watch how people interact, even try to talk with people in public areas, ask questions, ideas will flow.


7. Try to watch a little television, a favorite episode or movie, even an online video.


8. Read a book, short story, or poetry.


9. Play a game, an idea is sure to spring up. Especially a story driven one.


10. Try meditation, it may help your mind focus.


11. If you are religious, use that to help you focus. If praying helps then do it.


12. Take a journey to the Public Library. Browse the content there, sure to flame the ideas you want to write.


13. Talk to your friends and family about what you like to write, their thoughts and advice may come in handy.


14. If you are spiritual, use that connection to further your skill.


15. Love. Put your all into your writing. Your heart, mind, body, and soul. Love what you do and do not let anyone force any negativity on you. Be Positive and enjoy your creations.
